MDCK cells are derived from the kidney of Cox’s spaniels and are susceptible to avian influenza virus and human seasonal influenza virus. These cells are widely used in the production of inactivated vaccines for the aforementioned viruses.
CD MDCK 244 and MDCK SFM 1415 are two serum-free media that support stable passaging and high-density growth of MDCK suspension cells. BD 004 is a low-serum medium that effectively reduces the amount of medium required. It supports high-density growth of mammalian adherent cells while maintaining high viability.
